Somalia Records 348 New COVID-19 Cases

Somalia has recorded 348 new cases of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic from 3,641 samples that were tested in the last 72 hours.

The Ministry of Health confirmed this news in its latest updates to the country on September 23.

The health ministry’s updates show that Somaliland led with 239 cases followed by Puntland with 70. Galmudug had 19 compared to Banadir’s 15 and Jubaland’s 5.

Moreover, the tally of confirmed cases now stands at 19,583.

With 20 new deaths recorded, Somalia has now lost 1,099 people to the virulent disease.

On the positive side, the East African nation saw its recoveries rise to 9,345 after 90 more patients recovered from the deadly disease.

Males were responsible for 217 of the cases with females accounting for the remaining 131.
