Somalia has recorded 58 new cases of COVID-19 in various parts of the East African nation from tests conducted in the last 48 hours.
Consequently, the number of COVID-19 cases in Somalia has now risen to 4,920.
In the latest briefing, the Ministry of Health confirmed that 35 cases were reported in Mogadishu, the nation’s capital.
Additionally, Somaliland and Puntland recorded 14 and 10 cases respectively.
Sadly, two more patients diagnosed with COVID-19 succumbed to the deadly disease, as per the health ministry’s announcement.
Cumulatively, the number of deaths has now reached 136.
As for good news, the ministry reported that 13 more patients recovered from the deadly disease.
The announcements come in the midst of a recent announcement by the World Health Organization (WHO) that Somalia would receive 1.2 million vaccines from this month.
Somalia is scheduled to receive the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccines this month.
