Somalia’s Minister of Internal Security, Abdullahi Sheikh Ali Fartaag, met with Nelli Mikkola, the Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Finland in Somalia, on Wednesday.
Their discussions focused on strengthening collaboration between Somalia and Finland in key areas, including immigration management.
They seek to bolster the Special Forces of the Somali National Army (SNA) while providing support for the newly approved African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) mission.
AUSSOM is set to replace the AU Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) from January next year.
This meeting marks a continued effort to enhance security partnerships and improve Somalia’s internal security and law enforcement capabilities.
