Somalia has finally signed the Treaty of Accession that heralds its official admission into the East African Community (EAC).
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud signed the treaty on behalf of his country at a brief ceremony held in Kampala on Friday.
He flew straight from the United States to Kampala for the signing ceremony.
Meanwhile, a new EAC map was also unveiled in today’s ceremony. The map now includes Somalia, which is the latest member of the regional economic bloc.
