Somalia has successfully taken over all the posts that were previously occupied by the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS).
Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, the federal Minister of Defense, said this on Thursday.
He was addressing the media on the 2,000 ATMIS troops that were withdrawn from Somalia as of June 30, 2023.
ATMIS intends to pull out all its troops from Somalia by December 31, 2024.
