The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has announced its readiness to confiscate the property of individuals convicted of terrorism.
The passage of the Anti-Terrorism Bill, which is now an act of parliament, accords the government sweeping powers to take such measures.
Article 32 (b) of the Anti-Terrorism Act gives authorities the power to seize any property used to carry out terrorist acts.
Further, the government would now have no barrier in confiscating any terrorist-controlled or terrorist-owned property.
