Somalia to Hold Peaceful Polls, Prime Minister Assures

Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has said that Somalia remains committed to holding peaceful elections.

Roble made these comments on December 8, during the ongoing Somali Partnership Forum (SPF) in Mogadishu.

The East African nation is to hold local and parliamentary elections in December 2020.

However, several analysts believe that the country is running out of time, especially now that several contentious issues remain unresolved.

His comments came at a time when there are increased fears about the elections after the country missed several election milestones.

SPF is currently on its second day after kicking off in Mogadishu on Monday, December 7.
