Somalia is prepared to start exporting fresh meat.
This would be a huge departure from the past where it’s been exporting live animals.
Hassan Hussein Mohamed announced this on Monday.
He is the federal Minister of Livestock, Forestry, and Range.
Mohamed made this announcement while speaking with the state media.
The minister added that the export of fresh meat has several benefits.
First, its potential for profitability is great. It offers tons of employment opportunities too.
He stated that Somalia and Saudi Arabia have already signed an agreement to this end.
