Somali Auditors Complete Financial Audit Training in Ankara

ANKARA — The Audit Offices of Somalia and Turkey have successfully completed a joint Financial Audit Training Program in Ankara, marking a significant advancement in collaborative efforts to strengthen public financial oversight.

The closing ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials, including the President of the Turkish Court of Auditors and the Deputy Head of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA). The Somali delegation was led by the Deputy Auditor General, H.E. Abdijamal Ismail.

Enhancing Institutional Capacity

The initiative provided Somali auditors with specialized instruction in modern financial auditing methodologies. The training aimed to elevate professional capabilities and improve institutional effectiveness regarding public financial management and accountability within the Office of the Auditor General (OAG).

Upon completion of the coursework, certificates were presented to the participating auditors, acknowledging their advanced competencies in fostering transparency and good governance.

Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Alongside the technical sessions, senior officials from both nations convened for high-level meetings centered on enhancing bilateral cooperation and establishing enduring institutional partnerships.

During these dialogues, TİKA renewed its pledge to support the Somali Audit Office through continued capacity development programs and technical aid.

Deputy Auditor General Ismail expressed gratitude to the Turkish Court of Auditors and the Turkish Government for their hospitality, highlighting the fruitful collaboration exhibited throughout the program.
