Somalia Warned against Failing to Hold Poll Talks because of Location

Somalia’s political leaders have been warned against failure to hold elections talks because of the choice of location.

The international community spoke on the issue on February 13.

Last week, President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo invited politicians to meet in Garowe from February 15 to resume elections talks.

However, the choice of Garowe as the venue for the talks has created mixed reactions among politicians across the country.

Many critics of Garowe’s choice as the location for the talks would prefer holding it in Mogadishu from Monday.

Those opposed to Garowe’s selection believe that Mogadishu offers more stakeholders a chance to attend the talks.
