Somalia is ready to hold one person one vote (1P1V) elections in 2026.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud offered this assurance on Tuesday night in his Eid-Ul-Fitr message to Somalis.
He asked Somalis to prepare for the universal suffrage polls.
In his address, the President stated that the people of Somalia will now have a chance to elect their preferred candidates directly.
