Somalia will be accorded the space to take care of its own security concerns.
Kenya’s President-Elect William Ruto said this during an interview with CNN, which airs on Wednesday, September 7.
Ruto was speaking with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour in his first interview with the international press since the Supreme Court confirmed his election victory.
He discussed wide-ranging issues with Amanpour.
When asked for his comment on Somalia, Dr. Ruto said that the country is “a difficult nut to crack.”
However, he exuded confidence based on his experience of working with Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud in the past.
“We look forward to working closely with President Mohamud and the international community to solve the challenges facing Somalia,” President-Elect Ruto said.
“We will make it possible for Somalia to take care of its own security concerns,” Ruto added.
