Somalia’s Council of Ministers approved the 2021 Annual Budget proposed by the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) on October 29.
Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble chaired the meeting of the ministers that approved the budget.
Roble mentioned that the Council of Ministers also discussed the cost of the upcoming elections in the country.
Somalia is scheduled to hold parliamentary polls from November 2020 before following that up with presidential elections in February 2021.
The new budget also factors in the cost of holding the elections.
Thursday’s session represented the first meeting of the Council of Minister since the House of Representatives approved their appointment into office on Saturday, October 24.
