The number of COVID-19 cases in Somalia has risen by 140, according to the latest updates from the Ministry of Health.
The health ministry released details of the latest cases on September 25.
These were from 1,667 samples that health officials in the East African nation tested over the last 48 hours in various parts of the country.
Somaliland led with 105 cases. Puntland had 27 while Jubaland and Galmudug accounted for five and three cases respectively.
As per the ministry’s updates, 69 people recovered from the disease thus pushing recoveries to 9,414.
The country now has diagnosed 19,723 individuals with the deadly disease, which it first reported in March 2020.
With four new deaths reported on Saturday, Somalia has now lost 1,103 people to the disease.
