Somalia’s COVID-19 Cases Rise to 1,711

Dr. Fawziya Abikar Nur, the Minister of Health, has confirmed that the number of COVID-19 cases in Somalia has now reached 1,711.

She made this announcement after confirming 22 new cases, which the health ministry tested and reported on Sunday.

Following the announcements, it is clear that Banadir remains the worst-hit region with more confirmed cases than elsewhere in the country.

The minister in charge of the health docket also confirmed that the number of COVID-19 deaths remains 67.

In addition to the solid efforts by the government to curtail the spread of the disease in the country, aid agencies are now stepping with increased assistance.
