Somalia’s Danab Forces Participate in Multinational Military Training Exercise in Kenya, Djibouti and Tanzania

Somalia’s elite Danab forces have once again demonstrated their commitment to regional security by participating in Justified Accord 2025 (JA25), a multinational military exercise held from February 10 to 21, 2025, across Kenya, Djibouti, and Tanzania.

This marks their second consecutive year in the exercise, following their historic first deployment abroad during Justified Accord 2024.

Led by the U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF), JA25 brought together approximately 1,300 personnel from over 15 nations.

The exercise aimed to enhance multinational crisis response readiness, warfighting capabilities, and regional stability.

A notable feature of JA25 was the first-ever night iteration of air-to-ground integration operations, where partner countries coordinated with Kenyan air assets to support multinational land forces.

Somali soldiers also engaged in a multinational planning exercise, sharing best practices to strengthen interoperability in addressing regional security challenges and crises.

The continued involvement of Somalia’s Danab forces in such exercises underscores their growing role in regional security and their commitment to collaborative efforts in East Africa.
