Somalia’s Minister of Defence Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur recently visited his alma mater, Ankara University, at the invitation of the University’s President, Prof. Dr. Necdet Ünüvar.
During the visit, Nur, a 2016 graduate of Ankara University’s Faculty of Political Sciences (AUSBFM), highlighted the deep and growing relationship between Somalia and Turkey.
He expressed his intention to establish a cooperation agreement between Ankara University and the National University of Somalia.
The visit also included participation from the National Center for Maritime Law Research (DEHUKAM), suggesting potential collaborations in maritime law and security, which align with recent bilateral agreements between Somalia and Turkey.
Nur’s engagement at the university concluded with a nostalgic reflection on his student days and the reception of honorary tokens from the institution.
This visit emphasizes the strengthening academic and strategic ties between the two nations.
