The federal Minister of Environment and Climate Change hosted a delegation from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in her office on Thursday.
Khadija Mohamed Al-Makhzoumi hosted the delegation that was under the leadership of Etienne Peterschmitt.
Peterschmitt is the FAO Representative to Somalia.
During their meeting on September 1, the environment minister and the FAO team discussed several issues.
Mostly, they vowed to prioritize deepening and strengthening cooperation between Somalia and FAO.
Specifically, FAO pledged to work hard to improve cooperation with the environment ministry.
Furthermore, they agreed on the need of working together to build strategies that would help Somalia to cope with climate change while reducing environmental risks.
