Somalia’s federal parliament has formed a committee to evaluate the country’s budget for the previous four years.
The 7-member committee has a clear mandate to examine the budget for 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021.
This comes on the day that both chambers of the federal parliament approved the 2022 budget, which is worth $918.7 million.
As per confirmation from parliament, five members of the committee would be from the House of the People (Lower House).
Two of the members will come from the Senate (Upper House).
