Abdisaid Muse Ali, the Somalia Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, held talks with his Ethiopian counterpart on Thursday.
The January 27 talks between Ali and Demeke Mekonnen Hassen, Ethiopia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, took place in Addis Ababa.
Ali is currently in Addis Ababa on an official visit.
Hassen also serves as Ethiopia’s Deputy Prime Minister.
The two ministers discussed issues of mutual interest to their respective countries.
They were speaking ahead of the African Union (AU) Summit, which is expected to kick off soon.
Ali and Hassen also exchanged ideas on the latest political developments in Somalia and Ethiopia.
Somalia is currently holding parliamentary elections.
For its part, Ethiopia has been beset by clashes between government troops and Tigray forces for around a year now.
Ali expressed gratitude for the strong cooperation that exists between Somalia and Ethiopia.
