Somalia’s Humanitarian Crisis Worsening as Al-Shabaab Blockade Continues

The ongoing humanitarian crisis in Somalia is growing worse as the blockade by Al-Shabaab terrorists continues.

Al-Shabaab insurgents have initiated blockades in various parts of the East African nation.

Areas such as Bakool, which is in southwestern Somalia, are among the most affected.

The terrorists have put up a blockade at Bakool for more than 10 years now thus making it inaccessible to humanitarian organizations.

Witnesses claim that the crisis is worsening in such areas.

They have called upon the federal and regional governments to intervene to prevent the loss of human and animal life.

Gedo and Hiiraan regions continue to feel the full effects of the blockade and the worsening humanitarian crisis.
