The Second Deputy Prime Minister of Somalia, Abdisalam Dhaay, is leading a Somali government delegation in Cairo, Egypt, for the 12th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF12).
Dhaay traveled for the event, which wasorganized by UN-Habitat, on Monday.
This significant forum, being held in Africa for the first time since 2002 (when it was hosted in Nairobi), brings together global leaders, policymakers, and urban experts.
Over four days, participants will focus on “localizing” the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emphasizing the importance of local initiatives and strategies to address global challenges impacting communities.
The event highlights Africa’s role in shaping sustainable urban development amid growing urbanization and climate challenges.
