Somaliland and Kenya to Partner in Education

Somaliland and Kenya are to partner in the education sector.

This emerged during a meeting held on August 19 in Nairobi between the Kenyan education minister and his counterpart from Somaliland.

Ahmed Mohamed Torno, Somaliland’s Minister of Education, held a meeting with Prof. George Magoha of Kenya on Thursday.

During their meeting, the two ministers agreed that their respective nations need further discussions on areas, such as education, where they can mutually cooperate.

Ahmed Abokor, the Director General at Somaliland’s education ministry, accompanied Torno.

Sharmarke Gelle, the Deputy Head of Somaliland Mission to Kenya, was also at the meeting.

Said Jama, the Minister of Education’s Special Adviser, attended the talks too.

The meeting was the first between the Somaliland and Kenyan education ministry officials since the former’s inception.
