A delegation of Somaliland officials traveled to Sweden to lobby for international recognition.
The lobbyists visited the offices of the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Several Swedish legislators who have continuously advocated for international recognition for Somaliland were available to welcome the African delegation.
Faisal Ali Warabe, the leader of the opposition Welfare and Justice (UCID) Party, led the Somaliland delegation.
They kicked off the lobbying at the foreign affairs ministry’s offices in Stockholm.
While at the ministry offices, Warabe and his team held talks with Mikael Torstensson. The Swede has a close working relationship with Somaliland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Somaliland and Sweden enjoy cordial diplomatic ties.
