Somaliland Expresses Concern over Second Wave of COVID-19

The government of Somaliland has expressed concern over the second wave of COVID-19 in the country.

The Ministry of Health said that the people of Somaliland have to exercise more caution as the country witnesses a spike in the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases.

Omar Ali Abdillahi, the Minister of Health, said that the country is experiencing a second wave even though new positive cases are yet to be confirmed in the last 48 hours.

Somaliland announced its first COVID-19 case earlier this year.

Since then, 100 people have succumbed to the virulent disease or from complications brought about by the disease.

Abdillahi urged people living in COVID-19 hotspots in the country not to let their guard down but to follow the steps imposed by the health ministry and World Health Organization (WHO).
