Somaliland’s Ministry of Transport has issued new driving licenses to 27 drivers who work for the government.
The drivers received their new set of driving licenses during a graduation ceremony held in their honor early this week.
All the graduate drivers had gone through wide ranging courses designed to bring their skills up to speed in a fast-changing environment.
Several government officials attended the graduation ceremony. They included officials from the Ministry of Transport and Road Development.
Other officials were from Somaliland Road Development Agency. Several government ministries and agencies were adequately represented as well.
Ms. Ayaan Abdiaziz Mohamed, the Director of the License Department at the Ministry of Transport, urged the drivers not to “share the newly issued licenses with anyone else.”
She reminded the drivers that the government had made the licenses specifically for them; hence, the training they went through.
