Somaliland Police Seize Fake Foreign Currency

Police officers in Somaliland have seized fake foreign currency in a joint operation carried out across various towns in the country.

The towns where papers, chemicals, and other materials used in printing counterfeit currency are Hargeisa, Lasanod, Bo’ame, and Buroa.

Colonel Faisal Heiss Elmi, the police spokesperson, confirmed that officers had arrested several criminal masterminds who are behind the printing of counterfeit currency.

Furthermore, Colonel Elmi indicated that officers had confiscated cartons containing over 450lts of alcoholic drinks.

The drinks were discovered hidden in several residential buildings in Hargeisa.

In the second incident, two people were arrested for selling banned alcoholic drinks. The suspects are to be presented in court soon.
