The northern breakaway region of Somaliland is ready for Independence Day celebrations.
Somaliland commemorates Independence Day celebrations on June 26 each year.
It gained independence on June 26, 1960 from British rule.
A few days later, Somalia got its independence on July 1st from Italy.
The two nations would then join hands to become one.
However, Somaliland would then go its separate way on May 18, 1991 when Civil War broke out in Somalia.
Plans are underway to mark this public holiday in Somaliland.
