President Muse Bihi Abdi of Somaliland discussed the upcoming elections in the country with the European Union (EU) Ambassador to Somalia.
Bihi and Ambassador Tiina Intelmaan held the discussions on this crucial issue on Thursday, June 2.
Ambassador Intelmaan visited President Bihi at his office in Hargeisa.
Others who attended the discussions were Per Lindgarde and Maria Groeneveld.
Lindgarde is the Swedish Ambassador to Somalia while Groeneveld works at the EU Embassy in Nairobi.
Somaliland is scheduled to hold general elections on November 13, 2022.
As the breakaway region plans for the elections, the resignation of the Chairman of the Somaliland Electoral Commission (SEC) has thrown a spanner into the works.
Chairman Abdirashid Mohamud Riyoraac resigned on June 1.
Several members of the Council of Cabinet accompanied President Bihi in his discussions with the envoys.
