Somaliland Receives COVID-19 Medical Supplies from Taiwan

Somaliland’s Ministry of Health received a donation of COVID-19 medical supplies from the government of Taiwan.

Allen Chenhwa Lou, Taiwan’s Representative to Somaliland, handed over a donation of 400 cartons of the medical supplies to health ministry officials on Sunday.

The supplies included N95 facemasks, surgical masks, PPE, and protective clothing for medical personnel.

All the items are specifically made in Taiwan.

Omar Ali Abdillahi, the Minister of Health, received the supplies on behalf of the government.

During the handing over ceremony, both Abdillahi and Lou agreed that their two countries would be proactive in enhancing bilateral cooperation in the medical field.

Further, they also vowed to join their efforts together in the fight against COVID-19.

Since April 2020, Taiwan has donated over 51 million masks to different countries worldwide as part of its contribution to curb the spread of the deadly disease around the world.
