Somaliland has spoken out against the growing opposition to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) it signed with Ethiopia.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation hit out at Egypt and other nations for opposing the MoU between Somaliland and Ethiopia.
In a statement published on January 23, the foreign affairs ministry hit out at the “external interference” by nations and organizations opposed to the agreement.
Furthermore, Somaliland expressed willingness to resolve regional matters using dialogue and cooperation.
In recent days, Somalia has stated categorically that it was ready to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity through any means necessary.
This week, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi reassured Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of readiness to help it resist any external threat and aggression.
