The Somaliland National Intelligence Agency (NIA) claims to have arrested a female police officer allegedly sent by the Somali government to interfere with Somaliland’s elections.
While the agency did not disclose her name, it posted an image of the woman, reportedly wearing a Somali police uniform, after arresting her on Sunday.
However, the photo appears to be an older image. As of now, the Somali police have not issued any statements regarding this incident.
This situation underscores ongoing tensions between the Somali government and Somaliland, which claims independence but is not internationally recognized.
The timing of this arrest, coinciding with election-related activities, adds to the complexities of the relationship between the two entities.
