The Ministry of Transport and Road Development has opened a new road constructed by Somaliland Roads Development Agency.
Abdallahi Abokor Osman, the transport and roads development minister, opened Hawd Road, which is in the southern parts of Burao town.
Mustafa Farah Qallem, the Deputy Director of Somaliland Roads Development Agency who supervised the construction works, was present at the launching ceremony.
Qallem mentioned that the new road starts at Waasac Petrol Station and goes all the way to Hawd Control where it ends.
The minister said the road was constructed through collaboration between the national government, transport ministry, the road development agency, and the local administration.
Mayor Mohamed Yusuf Abdirahman Murad of Burao was also present to witness the inauguration of the road.
The mayor expressed his gratitude to all the stakeholders for ensuring that the road is completed on time.
