Somaliland troops will not leave Las Anod despite the growing protests in the region.
Brig. Gen. Mahad Ambashe, the commander of the Somaliland Armed Forces, said that his troops will remain in the Sool region.
He issued a warning to individuals and powers that seek the destabilization of Las Anod.
“We will continue using force to maintain law and order in the region,” Brig. Gen. Ambashe stated.
He added that the use of force would continue until peace is fully restored in the region.
“Our soldiers would not hesitate to return to Las Anod if the region descends into anarchy,” Ambashe added.
