On Sunday, Somaliland’s Ministry of Energy delivered a set of medical equipment to the country’s Ministry of Health.
The donation was from Genel Energy, a firm providing energy services in the country.
The supplies included oxygen producing plant, 60 oxygen storage tanks, emergency monitoring machines, as well as respiratory and cardiac equipment.
Abdi Abdillahi, who attended the handing over ceremony on behalf of Genel Energy, said the equipment would help the health ministry in its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jama Mahmoud Egal, the Minister of Energy and Minerals, expressed gratitude to Genel Energy for answering the ministry’s appeal for donations of good health equipment.
Egal said that the equipment would go towards meeting the demand for oxygen in medical facilities in Burao.
