Somaliland’s Minister of Foreign Affairs announced that he would be vying in the upcoming parliamentary elections in the breakaway nation.
Prof. Yasin Haji Mohamed Hir declared his candidacy on February 14.
The foreign affairs minister, who is expected to resign from his ministerial post, announced that he would be vying in Yagori, his hometown.
Furthermore, Prof. Hir indicated that he would be vying for the speaker’s elections for the House of Representatives.
The race for speaker’s elections has already kicked off in earnest in Sool region.
Prof. Hir joins Abdirisak Khalif Ahmed, the Third Deputy Chairperson of the opposition Wadani Party, who has shown interest in the speaker’s seat too.
