Mohamed Saed Sajin, Somaliland’s Minister of Commerce, said that the country’s Vice President fears a fair fight for leadership.
The ruling Kulmiye Party, which both the President and Vice President of Somaliland are from, is scheduled to hold its 4th Convention soon.
During the convention, delegates would elect new leaders for the party.
Most likely, the person announced the leader of the party would be the automatic candidate to vie for the Presidency.
Vice President Abdirahman Saylici has been making some serious accusations against President Muse Bihi Abdi.
According to Saylici, President Bihi has taken complete control of the preparation for the convention to ensure that only his people emerge victorious.
Saed Sajin accuses Vice President Saylici of unpreparedness to face his challengers.
Sajin is likely to be one of Saylici’s challengers for the position of the Fourth Chairman of Kulmiye Party in October’s convention.
An earlier effort to solve differences between the two leaders proved futile after Saylici insisted that nobody should challenge him in the upcoming party polls.
