Kenya has recently revised its travel policies, allowing citizens from most African countries to enter without prior authorization.
However, due to security concerns, this exemption does not apply to nationals from Somalia and Libya.
Under the new guidelines, visitors from the majority of African nations can stay in Kenya for up to two months without needing an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA).
Members of the East African Community (EAC), including Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Burundi, are permitted to stay for up to six months, in line with EAC free movement protocols.
To enhance security and streamline entry processes, Kenya plans to implement an Advanced Passenger Information/Passenger Name Record system.
Additionally, an expedited eTA processing option will allow travelers to receive approval within 72 hours.
These measures aim to promote regional integration, support open skies policies, and boost tourism across the continent.
