Somalis Need Proper Education on Climate Change, Says Environment Minister

“Somalis need a proper education on climate change,” the Minister of Environment and Climate Change has said.

Khadija Mohamed Al-Makhzoumi, the federal environment and climate change minister, said this on Saturday.

She was speaking to the media.

According to the minister, climate change is a new phenomenon for the people in the East African nation.

Consequently, extensive education is necessary to familiarize them with the phenomenon.

She added that public awareness is also necessary to ensure that Somalis understand the full implications of climate change and the measures needed to reduce its impact.
