Somali Media Women Association (SOMWA) has condemned the decision by Puntland authorities to arrest a female journalist working for SBC TV.
Xabiibo Laban Abdi, who works as both TV and radio journalist, was arrested in unclear circumstances.
SOMWA says her arrest is part of the agenda by political leaders and government officials to harass female journalists in the country.
The organization has demanded her immediate release from detention.
