The Communist Party of South Africa has started lobbying the international community to recognize Somaliland’s independence.
Mhelekwa Nxumalo, the National Organizer of South Africa Communist Party (SACP), confirmed that efforts to convince the international community to recognize Somaliland are officially on.
Nxumalo made this announcement during his official tour of Somaliland.
He is currently in Hargeisa, the administrative capital of Somaliland, meeting several senior government officials.
During his 8-day tour of the northern breakaway nation, Nxumalo announced that his party joins a long list comprising several organizations agitating for Somaliland’s recognition.
