Southwest Leader Blasts Some Somali Federal Government Officials over Fake Patriotism

President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen of the Southwest State delivered a strongly worded speech during a significant welcoming event in Baidoa, where he condemned what he termed as “fake patriotism” by some federal officials.

He described this behavior as “unacceptable” and warned that it could cause division within the country.

Emphasizing the need for unity and solidarity, Laftagareen called for collaboration among Somali leaders to address the pressing challenges facing the nation, rather than engaging in actions that could undermine national cohesion.

His remarks reflect ongoing tensions between regional and federal authorities in Somalia’s complex political landscape.
