Southwest Legislators Leave Mogadishu in Protest against Prime Minister Roble

Several newly elected legislators from the regional state of Southwest have left Mogadishu in protest against Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble.

The legislators, who represent Southwest in the House of the People (Lower House) and Senate (Upper House) left the nation’s capital on Tuesday, April 5.

They raised several complaints against Prime Minister Roble.

Top on their list was that the Prime Minister has repeatedly interfered with the functions of the Federal Elections Implementation Team (FEIT).

Their complaint follows the decision by Roble to approve the cancellation of some elections results for four Lower House seats in Southwest.

While leaving for Baidoa, the legislators vowed not to return to Mogadishu until their complaints are addressed.

Mostly, they want the results of the four seats declared genuine and approved.
