Several legislators from the Southwest State have spoken out strongly against pro-Ethiopian demonstrations Held in the region earlier.
The criticism from Somali opposition lawmakers hailing from Southwest State comes in response to Friday’s protests in Hudur town, located in the Bakol region.
The lawmakers described the protests as “unfortunate” and “unacceptable” during a press conference held in Mogadishu.
They urged regional authorities to align their actions with the federal government’s plans and policies to ensure that regional activities do not compromise Somalia’s national sovereignty.
This statement reflects ongoing concerns about the need for unity and coordinated efforts between regional administrations and the central government in Mogadishu.
The lawmakers emphasized the importance of maintaining a united front in addressing the country’s challenges.
