Southwest State has announced plans to airlift evictees from Somaliland to Baidoa.
Somaliland has evicted more than 1,000 individuals – including women and young children – from its borders.
Most of the evictees hail from southern Somalia.
On October 8, members of a committee that President Abdiaziz Laftagareen of the Southwest State appointed, arrived in Galkayo over this matter.
The committee members announced that the government would be relocating individuals to Baidoa.
President Laftagareen announced that his administration would work closely with international agencies such as the United Nations to evacuate the evictees.
