The newly-elected Speaker of the House of the People has urged security agents in Somalia to keep off politics.
Speaker Sheikh Aden Madobe of the Lower House said this during a meeting he held with top security officials.
The meeting with the security officials took place on Tuesday, May 3 in Mogadishu.
Speaker Madobe met with them to discuss security arrangements for the upcoming presidential elections in the country.
Somalia is scheduled to hold presidential elections before the end of this month.
He advised them against taking part in politics.
Madobe also reminded them that the law requires the security officials to report to him during the transitional period.
