The Speaker of Italy’s parliament has agreed to visit Somalia soon.
Speaker Lorenzo Fontana, who is the President of the Chamber of Deputies, accepted the invitation from his Somali counterpart.
House of the People (Lower House) Speaker Sheikh Adan Mohamed Noor Madobe sent an invitation to Speaker Fontana.
The Italian Speaker then responded in the affirmative on Tuesday.
Somalia and Italy have had strong relations historically.
