The Speakers of Somalia’s twin houses of parliament received debate schedule from the Chairman of the Independent Constitution Review and Implementation Commission (ICRIC).
Speaker Adan Madobe of the House of the People (Lower House) and Speaker Abdi Hashi of the Senate (Upper House) received the schedule on Wednesday.
They received the schedule together with the parliamentary adoption procedure from Burhan Adan Omar, the ICRIC Chairman.
Omar briefed the two leaders on the progress of the constitutional review process in Somalia.
Madobe and Hashi both assured Omar that both houses of parliament would prioritize review of the constitution.
They promised to do so when parliament next resumes.
