The First Aid and First Aid Trainer Training Program, conducted in collaboration with the Turkish Red Crescent Delegation in Somalia, the Mogadishu Somalia-Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Training and Research Hospital, the Mogadishu Somalia-Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Faculty of Health Sciences, and the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), has successfully concluded after approximately one month of intensive training.
The program aimed to enhance the skills of Somali participants in providing critical first aid and equipping them to become effective trainers in their communities.
The program’s conclusion was marked by a certificate ceremony held at the Turkish Embassy in Mogadishu on Monday.
The ceremony was attended by key Somali officials, including Ali Yusuf Ali Hosh, the Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation of Somalia, and Mahamuud Moallim, the SoDMA Commissioner.
The event celebrated the achievements of the trainees who successfully completed the program, acknowledging their commitment to acquiring essential first aid skills and their potential to share this valuable knowledge with their communities across Somalia.
Organizers said that the program is a significant step toward building local capacity for emergency response and strengthening the resilience of Somali communities.
