Taiwan and Somaliland have launched cooperation on healthcare, Taiwan’s Representative to Somaliland announced.
The announcement was made when Taiwan’s Representative to Somaliland hosted a virtual conference at his office on November 16.
During the virtual conference, representatives from Somaliland’s Ministry of Health Development and the Hargeisa Group Hospital were in attendance.
Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (TICDF) also sent representatives to the meeting.
Other participants were from Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Kaohsiung Medical University Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital.
Monday’s conference was a follow-up to the ICDF Cooperation Framework Agreement signed by Ministers of Foreign Affairs from both countries.
Yasin Hagi Mohamud and Dr. Jaushieh Joseph Wu, Somaliland’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Taiwan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs respectively, signed the agreement on August 17, 2020.
